We will discuss physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. Students will learn how these cases are categorized by other government entities and how they are investigated. We will cover patrol’s response and duties at the scene, minimal fact interviewing, parental interviews, agency referrals, and game planning strategies for investigative steps.
Child custody often comes into play with these types of cases, so we will discuss how to deal with these types of accusations during child custody disputes. The journey will then take you through how to document and photograph injuries present at various stages, as well as how to work on a joint investigation with Child Protective Services.
