Child Abuse Investigations: Protecting the Innocent
This 3-day course will explore the various intricacies of investigating a child abuse case. It is designed for law enforcement, social workers, school resource officers, and prosecutors.
We will discuss physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. Students will learn how these cases are categorized by other government entities and how they are investigated. We will cover patrol’s response and duties at the scene, minimal fact interviewing, parental interviews, agency referrals, and game planning strategies for investigative steps.
Child custody often comes into play with these types of cases, so we will discuss how to deal with these types of accusations during child custody disputes. The journey will then take you through how to document and photograph injuries present at various stages, as well as how to work on a joint investigation with Child Protective Services.
This course will also cover multidisciplinary teams, note-taking, and other follow-up work needed to thoroughly investigate your case. Register now for this amazing 3-day in-depth Child Abuse Investigations course, which includes numerous case studies.
