Our Instructors
Erin Payne
Erin Payne was born and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey and always had a passion for pursuing a career in law enforcement. Erin attended Liberty University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Upon graduation Erin joined the United States Army National Guard as an enlisted soldier until September 2021 when she Commissioned as an Intelligence Officer. Erin received extensive training in all Intelligence disciplines at the Military Intelligence Basic Officer Leadership Course.
After returning from basic training in 2018 Erin joined the Norfolk Police Department and served in the first precinct until June of 2021. Erin is a general instructor and a defensive tactics instructor who provides training to the Norfolk Police Academy. In April of 2022 Erin successfully completed Norfolk’s Special Operations School. In June of 2021 Erin was transferred to the Special Crimes Unit and currently investigates crimes against children, sexual assaults, and domestic violence cases.
Throughout her time in the Special Crimes Unit Erin has worked various rape investigations, child sexual and physical abuse investigations and domestic assault investigations. In 2022 Erin was awarded with Officer of the Quarter for a robbery/rape investigation.
Erin has an extreme passion for sexual assault investigations and takes pride in being victim centered. Erin has a newfound passion for teaching and thoroughly enjoys being a part of the PinnacleTCI team.
