Britt P. Imes, ESQ.



Britt Imes, is a highly experienced prosecutor in the state of California and serves as the Deputy District Attorney at the San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law in June 1997, following a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & History (with Honors) from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in June 1994.

Britt currently serves as the Chief Deputy District Attorney where he was instrumental in establishing a specialized Homicide Division within the office, which he manages with a team of attorneys, investigators, paralegals, and clerical staff. His responsibilities also extend to serving as the Capital Litigation Coordinator and Perkins Coordinator, providing crucial guidance on post-conviction litigation and law enforcement operations.

Beyond his courtroom duties, Britt is a dedicated educator, providing training on various legal topics to law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and stakeholders at local, state, and national levels. He has contributed scholarly publications to esteemed legal journals, further showcasing his expertise and commitment to the field.

Britt's professional affiliations include active membership in the State Bar of California and the California District Attorneys Association, where he has held leadership roles and contributed to committees focused on gang violence and capital litigation. Additionally, he engages in significant volunteer work, coaching youth sports teams and supporting organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America.

Britt's exemplary contributions to the legal profession and the community have earned him prestigious awards, including the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America and the Board of Directors Award for Advocacy in Capital and Complex Litigation from the Association of Government Attorneys Engaged in Capital and Complex Litigation. Throughout his career, Britt has demonstrated unwavering dedication to justice, integrity, and service, leaving a lasting impact on both the legal profession and the communities he serves.

In recognition of his expertise and dedication to education, Britt joined Pinnacle TCI's growing list of qualified instructors in 2024, further solidifying his commitment to sharing knowledge and enhancing professional development within the legal field.
