David Ruskey



David Ruskey has dedicated over 26 years to serving the Norton (Massachusetts) community, beginning in 1995 as a police/fire dispatcher and later joining the Norton Police Department in 1998 as a patrol officer. Currently serving as a Detective, Dave's career has been marked by a commitment to public safety and a willingness to take on challenging roles.

Throughout his tenure, Dave served as union president, leading officers through a change of leadership and successfully negotiating increased union wages and benefits. He excelled in crash reconstruction, serving as the department's crash investigator for several years, and took pride in mentoring new officers as a certified Field Training Officer (FTO).

Dave has earned recognition for his outstanding contributions, including being named the Norton Police Department's "Officer of the Year" and receiving accolades from Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) for his dedication to roadway safety. His exemplary work has been acknowledged with several commendations throughout his career.

Holding a Master's of Science degree from Boston University, Dave extended his impact by teaching criminal justice courses. He created a mobile device forensics course, guiding dozens of students to achieve manufacturer certification in the operation of forensic tools and data analysis. He is eager to continue teaching upon the conclusion of his policing career.

In his role in the Detective Division, Dave embraces contemporary technology, specializing in mobile device examinations. Certified in Cellebrite forensic tools (CCO & CCPA) and holding "Trainer" status for MSAB's XRY/XAMN entry courses, he has successfully closed cases through mobile device data analysis. Additionally, Dave is an FAA licensed/certified drone pilot, contributing to missions involving missing persons, crash investigations, and pre-warrant surveillance operations.

Dave's dedication to investigative work is unwavering, and he strives to deliver high-level police services to victims of crime. Excited to be part of the Pinnacle TCI family, he believes in the power of sharing knowledge within the police community to enhance overall police service.
