Shane Galus



Shane Galus is a Marine Corps veteran; during his time in the military, he served one combat tour to Iraq in 2007. He was then stationed in Lusaka Zambia supporting the US Embassy in their diplomatic mission. In September 2010 Shane left the military to peruse a career in law enforcement and was hired by the Fall River Police Department in 2012, where he has remained a full-time Police officer. While employed he served in many units, including the Uniformed Division as a Patrol Officer, Special Operations Division, and Emergency Services Unit.

Currently, Shane is assigned to the Major Crimes Division Crime Scene unit. In this assignment, Shane is one of three Detectives that process all Crime scenes for forensic and latent evidence. He serves as a latent print examiner for the Fall River Police and assists any surrounding towns with examinations of their latent prints when called upon. Shane enjoys the processing of prints and the challenge of getting the best lifts and photographs possible.

Shane has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award and several commendations while at his department. He continues to be involved in the Teen Police Academy and introduces the participants to forensics, especially latent print evidence.
