Jerry Faulk
Jerry Faulk is a veteran investigator whose expertise in cold case investigation, death and homicide investigation, interviewing, and investigative genetic genealogy is grounded in years of practical experience.
Jerry retired from law enforcement in 2023 as the most senior detective at the Raleigh Police Department, the second-largest agency in North Carolina. After years as a uniform patrol officer, he was promoted to Detective and held several investigative assignments. He first became a homicide detective in 2008 and has worked on hundreds of death-related cases since.
In 2017, he joined the FBI as a Task Force Officer. He was one of the first members of the FBI’s genealogy unit and ultimately became the program coordinator for North Carolina. Jerry has helped pioneer investigative genetic genealogy in law enforcement and has successfully utilized the technique to solve numerous cases.
Throughout his career, Jerry developed a passion for interviewing and honed his skills through thousands of interviews. He has a remarkable ability to obtain confessions from suspects, and his interviews have become turning points in many investigations.
Jerry has dedicated much of his career to investigating cold cases. He was the Raleigh Police Department’s first cold-case detective and led the department's cold-case efforts for a decade. He now owns and operates a cold case consulting company called 3C Solutions. He is considered a cold-case expert and regularly consults on cases across the country. In a variety of roles, he has helped resolve numerous cold cases throughout his career.
Jerry's cases have been featured on ABC, CBS, Fox, CNN, Investigation Discovery, Oxygen, VH1, Inside Edition, People, the National Enquirer, several podcasts, and numerous news outlets.
As an instructor, Jerry has trained hundreds of law enforcement professionals in Interviewing, Criminal Investigation, Death and Homicide Investigation, and Cold Case Investigation. He has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
